TransCanada Pipelines 56 km Mainline β 2016β2017 β NE Alberta (Wabasca)
Served as Senior Pipeline Inspector and Assistant Construction Manager on a 56 km 30" carbon steel pipeline (44 km through muskeg). Oversaw excavation, lowering-in, backfill, and buoyancy control in the most challenging 15 km muskeg section. Directed critical integrity dig after smart pig anomaly detection, safely removing rock and verifying pipe ovality. Successfully completed the project during spring breakup using ATVs and helicopters.
TransCanada Pipelines Deep Valley North 48β Mainline β 2021β2022 β NE Alberta (Grande Prairie)
Served as Senior Pipeline Inspector on a major 48" mainline project. Implemented quality assurance procedures, verified LEMS data for all crews, monitored excavation and ground disturbance compliance, performed holiday testing of coatings, verified buoyancy control devices and as-built surveys, and supervised force account teams of 40+ personnel while ensuring full adherence to safety regulations, project timelines, and API 1169 standards.
Paramount Resources 14 km 8" Pipeline β 2013β2014 β NW Alberta (Grande Prairie)
Served as Assistant Chief Inspector on a 14 km 8" pipeline project involving 50 HDD bores ranging from 125 m to 568 m in length, with 85% featuring elevation changes up to 300 m through highly variable subsurface conditions. Led daily inspector meetings, conducted safety training resulting in zero lost-time incidents, and developed the site-specific Emergency Response Plan as Prime Contractor representative.
Paramount Resources HTHP Well Tie-In β 2013 β NE British Columbia (Fort Nelson)
Served as Construction Manager for the tie-in of a high-temperature high-pressure (HTHP) well (>130Β°C, >9,000 psi). Assembled team of environmental consultants, surveyors, and Fort Nelson First Nation representatives; integrated Indigenous knowledge into pipeline routing, reducing environmental disturbances by 15% and community complaints. Spearheaded strategic pivot to 650 m HDD segment to avoid seasonal freeze-up, implemented Quality Management System (25% defect reduction), and completed pre-commissioning and well startup.
Gibson Energy 300,000 bbl Tank Farm β 2010β2011 β Central Alberta (Hardisty)
Served as Facility Senior Civil Inspector during construction of a 300,000 bbl storage tank. Oversaw piling installation for piping support, fabrication of 30" piping throughout the tank farm, daylighting of buried facilities, and sheet piling for road crossings.
Trans Mountain Pipeline 20β Valve Consolidation β 2000β2001 β Bellingham, Washington State
Served as Construction Site Manager for a 20β valve consolidation project. Coordinated consulting engineers and contractors for construction of containment slab, removal of buried 20β valves, installation of new above-ground valves with associated piping, and erection of a steel frame building with crane beams. Implemented change notice system to protect owner interests when the contractor failed to meet contractual obligations.
